In collaboration with our neighbouring farmers S.J. Rushbrook and Son, we can offer weekend shooting breaks. Accommodation would be booked in the normal way with English Country Cottages, (see 'Bookings') but with advance notice, game shooting can be arranged during the open season.
Peter Rushbrook runs a successful game rearing and shooting business, together with a farm shop selling country clothing and shooting supplies. The shooting is based around the rolling countryside of Wattisham and Hitcham around the various natural and man-made habitats (woods, hedgerows, numerous game cover strips and two lakes). We can cater from 1 or 2 people wanting to do an afternoon's rough shooting with a dog, to a 200+ bird day shooting pheasant, partridge, and duck for 10 guns.
If after a successful day's shooting the thought of cooking a meal at the end of the day doesn't appeal, an evening meal and transport can be arranged for you at a local recommended restaurant for you and your party. Kennelling for gun dogs for an overnight stay can be arranged, as can secure storage of guns and ammunition. During the summer, an afternoon's clay pigeon shooting can be arranged for holidaymakers, again with prior notice.
